Let's talk about sex!

Hello lovelies! I would like to start by saying thank you for the great response I've received about last weeks post! So many people have contacted me through social media and people in my year at school have said that it was helpful and relatable so thank you! Now as you can probably tell from the title this weeks post is going to be surrounding the subject of sex. Yep, sex. That dreaded word. For some people the topic is easily approachable and they have no problem with communicating their feelings about it. However some find it a taboo subject and it's difficult to convey what they want to say without being judged. This is what I want to talk about this week; to begin a discussion about sex and the pressures that it brings to young people. For me personally it's not the people I interact with sexually that pressure me, I feel pressure from social expectation. I got to the age of around 14/15 and people in my year at school started to experience it and I started to qu...

Insecurities

Hello lovelies! I'm really sorry for the lack of posts lately! I've had writers block and I've been revising for my upcoming A-level exams! But this week I'm back and I've chosen to speak about insecurities. Earlier this week I read Louise Pentland's AKA Sprinkle of Glitters new blog post called 'Be your own kind of beautiful' which you can read here - sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk. This made me start thinking about what I consider to be my insecurities and if they are even noticed by other people. When I look in the mirror I only ever point out the negatives that I see rather than the positives. I see a massive forehead, eyebrows that grow back way too fast, chubby cheeks and the ugly scars I have on my forehead. To test this hypothesis; that others don't see as many negatives that you as an individual do, I had a conversation with one of my best friends Becky. I told her about my list of insecurities and she completely disagreed with me. Sh...

The spring tag

Hello lovelies! I was nominated for this tag ages ago so I apologise for being so slow in response! I was nominated by the lovely Sophie AKA Petals of perfection. She has been a great help with starting my blog and her blog is amazing so go and check her out here - petalsofperfection.blogspot.co.uk. Lets get on with this tag! Question 1: What three colours remind you of spring? Probably pink, white and baby blue. Question 2: What is the first thing you added to your spring wardrobe? A gorgeous floor length dress. It has a lovely floral pattern of the vest style top and then it's black to the floor and it's kind of see through. I'm not great at describing haha, so check it out here- http://www.littlemissrendell.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/huge-fashion-haul.html I did a huge fashion haul and it's included in this! Question 3: What is the first item of clothing you ditch to make it more spring-like? Jeans! I hate wearing them; when winter rolls around and I'm forc...

Huge fashion haul!

Hello lovelies! I went shopping twice in the Easter half term and I thought I'd do a haul for you! I love reading and watching hauls so I hope this one is alright for you. I haven't been on a proper shopping spree in a while so I was excited to get stuck in, after watching a few hauls on Youtube (Tanya Burr's especially) I was inspired as to what kind of style I wanted. First stop was H&M. I adore this shop, every time I go in I can find something that I love! The first thing that caught my eye was a gorgeous black hat. I'm going to Reading festival this summer and I wanted this style of hat or something similar to take with me. As soon as I tried it on I loved it and had to have it; if you follow me on any social media (links at the end of the post) then you have most probably seen the hat as I have spoke so much about it already but this is what it looks like: I love it so much! It's so comfortable and goes with the majority of my wardrobe and at £12.99 I ...

Lets catch up

Hello lovelies! I'm sorry it's been a while since I've posted but I've been really busy! School work has been the priority and I also went to Krakow, Poland on a history trip. It was amazing! The main reason that we went was to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau as our coursework is surrounding the holocaust. There was a mixed reaction to our visit. Some didn't feel any emotion whereas me and my friend Amy got a bit emotional. For me the heart-breaking part was seeing the Jews possessions which were on display. These ranged from glasses to suitcases and even prosthetic limbs. I did shed a tear or two. However the rest of the trip was brilliant. The city was beautiful and the company was hilarious! Here are some pictures from the trip and if you have any questions about it leave them in the comment section: This trip has opened my eyes to history a lot more. It's concreted the idea that's it's not just in text books it was real life. It's also made...

Some film reviews

Hi lovelies! This week as you know is half term and for once I've actually had a social life! I went to see two films this week with my friends; Fifty shades of Grey and Kingsman: the secret service. I thought I'd do a little review on them both and see if you agree if you have seen either film. I'll start with Fifty shades. I have been so buzzed to see this film ever since I heard they were making it. I loved the books and I really wanted the film to live up to my expectations. It kind of did. I'll go through the positives first. Dakota Johnson was amazing as Anastasia! She projected the exact image I had for the character; vulnerable yet ballsy (excuse the pun). I thought she executed the role perfectly. Another positive is the aesthetics of the film. It was beautifully shot and I loved that at the start everything was grey, it was a nice touch. The sex scenes also weren't awkward or unnecessary, I was worried that they would just be thrown in but they were wel...

My current hair and beauty favourites!

Hello lovelies! I've been watching loads of beauty favourites lately and it's help to build my make up collection, find products that suits my skin tone and build volume in my hair (God it needs it!. So here are a few of mine that I find help me out: Starting with nails, the whole Barry M collection is fabulous! For me it doesn't chip easily, the range of colours has one for everyone and it makes doing your nails more fun rather than a chore! My particular favourite is the colour 'Forest'436. The matte finish leaves your nails looking professional and sleek. I swear by this product and recommend all of you to try it! Moving on to my favourite beauty product; lipsticks! For me the right lipstick can bring the make up look altogether and makes it have more character. My two favourites at the moment are from Maybelline and MAC. The price difference between the two is big but the finish that they leave are very similar. Firstly, the Maybelline colour drama in ...
